Civil Structural Inspector (Auckland / Northland)

HOW YOU CONTRIBUTE TO THIS… 

As the Civil Structural Inspector, you will assist with all asset management and durability projects. There will be plenty of opportunities to work with local and remote teams to deliver an extensive range of Infrastructure, Industrial and Oil & Gas projects.

You ‘own the challenge’ and are not afraid to get stuck in.

On top of this, you will:

  • Carry out condition assessments, surveys, and written reports.
  • Carry out independent quality control inspections and/or construction monitoring.
  • Write specifications.
  • Produce Quality Assurance documentation.
  • Work with Leads to develop maintenance and repair scopes, estimates, and resource requirements.

WHAT YOU BRING…

We are on the lookout for a highly competent, adaptable and reliable Civil Structural Inspector who:

  • Has a minimum of 3+ years’ proven working experience with assessing and repairing aging and deteriorated concrete and steel structures.
  • Has knowledge and experience with protective coatings application, inspection, assessment and repairs. Ideally NACE 1 / 2 / 3 certified. Training will be provided to progress to NACE 3.
  • Can physically carry out the work. A large proportion of GRIT’s project work is on live sites and work can be in confined spaces, at height or in physically challenging locations. Confined space and working at height experience and qualifications would be beneficial.
  • Has strong communication skills with excellent verbal and written English.
  • Is a great relationship builder and team player.
  • Has excellent organisational skills.
  • Is proficient using Microsoft operating system including MS Word, Excel, Outlook, OneDrive etc.
  • Has a sense of humor, an appetite for fun and a laugh along the way.
  • Has a Current Driver License – GRIT team members must be able to drive themselves to sites as part of their roles.
