René Hill

René Hill brings over 20 years of specialised experience in corrosion control, protective coatings, and quality compliance across complex infrastructure and construction environments. She is known for translating standards and technical requirements into practical, buildable solutions that improve durability and reduce whole-of-life risk.

At GRIT, René leads corrosion and coatings expertise within project delivery. Her role focuses on ensuring that durability is considered early, specified clearly, and delivered properly - helping clients avoid issues before they arise, rather than reacting to them later.

René is particularly valued for her ability to connect detail with the bigger picture. She works closely with teams to align standards, site realities, and long-term asset performance - making sure what’s designed can actually be delivered, and will last.

Outside of work, you’ll most likely find René in the high country or backcountry, fly fishing rivers and lakes as a member of the Canterbury Fly Fishing Club.
