Valerie Lui

Valerie brings curiosity, creativity and a strong sense of purpose to her internship at GRIT. Here she’s gaining hands-on experience in structural analysis, while exploring her growing interest in asset management and lifecycle engineering.

With a background that spans criminology, 3D printing and videography, Valerie’s journey into engineering has been anything but linear - and that breadth of experience shapes how she sees the world. Her previous internship gave her a meaningful introduction to structural design through temple construction projects across the Pacific, while a mission in the North Island solidified her values and drive.

Drawn to sustainable engineering and passionate about collaboration, she’s found a good fit at GRIT - a team where people work hard, stay grounded and actively support each other to solve problems.

Outside of work, Valerie recharges through creativity, coastlines and time with family - her closest friends and greatest source of inspiration.
