Willie Sun

Originally from Taipei where earthquakes are part of daily life, Willie has a keen interest in seismic resilience and a passion for helping build safer communities here in New Zealand. With a degree in civil engineering and further study in structural and earthquake geotechnical engineering, he brings a broad and relevant skillset to his work at GRIT. 

A team player who thrives on collaboration, Willie embodies the GRIT culture of sharing knowledge and thinking outside the box to solve difficult problems. He has a knack for cutting through complexity - using thorough analysis to shape practical, safe and efficient solutions that meet technical requirements and make sense to clients.

Outside of work, Willie’s passion is badminton, which he’s been playing for over 15 years. He’s also studying toward a Master of Applied Computing - a natural extension of his interest in data, systems and problem solving.
