Whananaki North Wharf Rehabilitation

Client - Whangarei District Council Date - Current

The Whananaki North Wharf is an important recreational asset for the local community. It is approximately 100 years old and in a deteriorated state which has limited its use due to public safety concerns.

GRIT is developing, designing and managing the rehabilitation of the bridge, working closely with our ECI partners Freyssinet New Zealand.

The scope includes a durability assessment of the existing seawall, geotechnical investigation and the design of a new wharf structure to extend from the seawall.

“My colleagues and I were impressed with the Matrix and the manner in which the Schemes were presented. Very clear, concise and simple.”
Shaun Dixon, Strategic Asset Co-ordinator (Parks)  | Parks & Recreation Department | Whangarei District Council
